New roof at Loisiijo Lodge Shompole

In 2013 with funds generously donated by Mr Claude Marullaz, a Swiss restaurateur from Geneva, we were able to build a magnificent roof over the mess and kitchen areas of Loisiijo Lodge. Repairs were managed courtesy of Community Camps Ltd. with assistance from two young volunteers Alexis Fourneau and Jeremy Stumpf from France. African Latitude provided transport for the three weeks construction project. Workers were employed from the local Maasai community at Shompole, as well as a few tradesmen with specialised skills sourced from other parts of Kenya.
